Our Wedding Anniversary

Today my darling wife Jacky and I celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary. It is hard to believe we have been together for almost 30 years. Our wedding day was a fabulous occasion and although the weather was terrible, a real downpour all day, we both had an amazing time; so did all our families and friends.

I think back to the night before our wedding day when my dear father and I had dinner near Penzance. It was such a special time to spend with my dad who stayed at our flat in Penzance overnight. He was so proud I was marrying Jacky and I know he loved her very much.

We were married at St Erth church, which is very close to where we now live, at the time there was extensive renovation work with scaffolding down the centre isle. The ceremony was lovely and the time went by so quickly as we enjoyed readings and singing and of course our exchange of vows.

Jacky looked gorgeous in a beautiful Spanish designed wedding dress and had a wonderful glow all day.

Our wedding reception was held at Tregenna Castle, which to this day is a favourite wedding venue, not least because of the special memories it holds for me each time I am in the hotel. Our wedding reception went through to the early hours of the morning and after breakfast the day after our wedding, with glorious sunshine, we had a crazy game of cricket on the beach prior to going to see my family.

It was such a special day and the story book wedding album Leon produced of scanned photos from our wedding day, means so much to us both and was part of Jacky’s birthday present a couple of years ago. I know how much pleasure wedding couples will get from my photgraphy and Leon’s album design in the future. It really is true; a photograph says more than a thousand words.

New Wedding Album

We are delighted with our newly launched album which is beautifully produced. Leon’s design work looks great and it’s been really well received by several brides whose weddings I shall be photographing.

Our brides love the format of the album and the cover is laminated with a high gloss finish that looks really effective and means we can wrap one image that will make the front cover, the spine and back cover or we can use several images.

The pages are coated which gives protection that many albums do not have. Instead of the pages being very thick which makes other albums very heavy, the prints are not mounted onto board so the album is much lighter.

We can produce the new format album in a variety of sizes; the albums are a very stylish and are an effective way of presenting wedding photographs; we’re pleased with the reaction – it looks as though 2011 will be a great year.

Wedding Booking 2013

Bookings are coming in very well for 2011 and 2012 but have today taken a booking for Sam and Matt’s wedding in 2013. I met up with them in October; a lovely couple and I look forward to meeting up with them again and of course photographing their wedding day which I know will be a real blast.

With very long lead times I am always surprised how quickly the time goes by between booking and shooting the wedding; often my couples will book 18 months to 2 years in advance which always seems so far into the future and then almost out of the blue I have camera in hand and am working away capturing the excitement of the wedding.

I have just returned from a meet in Penzance, the sun is shining brightly and boy do I appreciate being so close to the sea. The studio overlooks St Michael’s Mount the iconic island off Marazion in Mount’s Bay that looks fantastic on a beautiful day like today.

If you are looking for a wedding photographer it’d be great to hear from you so feel free to get in touch. Well that’s it for now and to Sam and Matt glad you’ve booked me as your wedding photographer and many thanks for your very positive feedback about my wedding photography portfolio.

Wedding Testimonial

It’s always great to get feedback from our newly weds. This is a testimonial from Jady who married Andy at Tregenna Castle.

Wow! What a wonderful day we had, with the photos being proof of this. Pervaiz captured every detail of our special day, and we will always have these as special memories. We were amazed when looking at the photos, how many Pervaiz had taken without us even being aware! He was so unintrusive, which left us free to mingle with all of our guests - who thought he was great fun! The photos were very relaxed and showed our day exactly as it was – just as we wanted them to be.

We not only have Pervaiz to thank but also his son Leon who did a fantastic job with the album design, a process in which we were greatly involved. The finished article was amazing – worth every penny, if not more!
We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for capturing the memories of our special day within these photos.
Pervaiz comes, without a doubt, highly reccommended!

Wedding Photography St Ives

Wedding photography at St Ives Cornwall where the sea views and beaches are enjoyed by brides and grooms on their wedding day. St Ives is at the top of my list for places to shoot weddings. Many wedding photographers have to travel from far away to take photos at St Ives and here I am with St Ives on my door step (well nearly)

Wedding Photographers St Ives

St Ives has a special atmosphere about it and many of the couples I photograph know associate the town with holiday fun and therefore make it the ideal place to get married.

Wedding photography at the Chy an Albany Hotel at St Ives in Cornwall. A wedding venue for smaller weddings where I photographed Michelle and Ed’s wedding.

This wedding venue at St Ives is close to fabulous beaches and the town centre is nearby. We were so lucky to get some great outdoor photographs on the Island in St Ives with panoramic sea views across St Ives Bay, followed by a visit to Porthminster beach with great views to St Ives and across St Ives Bay to Gwithian. Having got some great shots on leaving the beach it started to rain.

Michelle and Ed had a great time and will have great wedding photos that will always rekindle the excitement and emotions of their wedding day.

Winter Wedding

Wedding meeting at the Chy an Albany Hotel St Ives about a wedding taking place in December. I have photographed many weddings at the hotel which is on the approach to St Ives and has views across the bay. Winter weddings are challenging as the weather can be dreadful but a crisp bright day will be a real bonus enabling photographs to be taken outside.

Winter weddings have their own atmosphere although I do know of some wedding photographers who will not photograph winter weddings. If it rains stay undercover; simple really, and concentrate on the informal shots of wedding guests enjoying a drink or two and then have an area for a few groups of close family and friends. Natural light will add a special feel to the photographs in complete contrast to the type of wedding photography that can be done outside.

I guess I like challenges which is what keeps me highly motivated; I like to improve on what I have achieved in the past and this keeps my wedding photography fresh and, for me,  exciting.

The weather is so unpredictable I have known rain, sunshine and hailstones in one day so my motto is expect the unexpected and always take advantage of good weather whilst it’s there particularly for beach wedding photography.

Lots of Wedding Photographers

Busy week ahead as weddings shot last week need to be processed and a portrait session that was photograped. Wedding photographers seem to be ever increasing throughout the UK and many brides enquiring about weddings are staggered by the number of wedding photographers who are promoting their services to photograph weddings in Cornwall.

The advent of the web means most people looking for wedding services and people providing web services use the web and there’s been a marked increase in the availability of companies and sotware to enable people with little or no experience to have a professionally styled web presence. Have things changed recently? Yes I think they have. Years ago everyone could buy a simple point and shoot camera but not everyone would have access to the professional process and print services, whereas now everyone has access to very reasonably priced digital cameras and can see what the photos they have taken look like on screen and delete if they are not happy with the result.

The level of competition is increasing but my personal belief is that this is nothing to what the competition will be like for the future. Is this a good thing, personally I think it is as it keeps those that take wedding photography seriously and make their living in this industry have to keep on their toes as far as marketing is concerned and the quality of the work they produce. The result for the customer is hopefully better service and  quality of work.

To all wedding photographers I wish you the best and I hope business is looking good.

Carnglaze caverns wedding venue Liskeard Cornwall is where I recently photographed a wedding in the rain which took place outside amongst trees and fairies in the dell.

A really unusual place to get married and the wedding I photographed although small was very special to the bride and groom and the weather did not deter them from wanting some photographs taken showing the woodland surroundings
