Wedding Reception Tregenna Castle, St Ives, Cornwall

April 12, 2009 – 8:32 am

Hard to beleive how many wedding photographs have been captured so far in April and it’s not even half way through the month. Delighted to have photographed Kathryn and Sam’s wedding at the beginning of April. Lovely ceremony at St Euny Church at Redruth, I was born in Redruth, followed by a reception at Tregennna Castle Hotel, overlooking St Ives. I will be posting some images soon. Great day, got to the beach had great fun photographing the happy couple. The food was excellennt, chef certainly did everyone proud everyone on the table was very impressed, one wedding guest commented ”what a change to get decent food at a wedding”. He was from the woking area and thoroughly enjoyed his visit to Cornwall as did the other guests on the table.

It’s Sunday, have just downloaded and backed up yesterday’s wedding and am now off to photograph a toddler at the studio. The sun’s shining and I’m really looking forward to photographing Amber, who I last photographed about 2 years ago.

My business is so varied and exciting – love it!!!!!!

Will be posting again soon so do check back for more of my ramblings.

Weddings in Southern England

March 10, 2009 – 2:39 pm

My ”unique style of photography” (said to me during a conversation with an owner of a lovely private hotel earlier today) is in demand throughout southern England. I have covered weddings in the north of the country but from this year will be keeping the area between Cornwall up to London and down to Surrey. I stay the night prior to the wedding so I can meet and photograph many of the family and guests prior to the wedding day. Everyone soon realises this is no ordinary approach to wedding photography and because I am at ease with myself, seem to be achieving more and enjoying what I do more each year.

I guess my reputation is the all important thing to me;  money and profit are certainly not what motivate me, creating the sort of images my couples love is. I enjoy the excitement of weddings,  photographing the  the many wonderful people I have met, look forward to a busier year than ever this year and look forward to picking up the cameras and shooting my next wedding.

If you are a bit crazy looking for someone to create edgy images and want to look totally amazing in your photography I’d love to hear from you.

Best regards,

Pervaiz

New Year More Weddings throughout Cornwall

January 19, 2009 – 12:44 pm

It’s so hard to believe that it’s nearly 5 months since my last entry at the end of August – last year. 2008 was a superb year not just for business but also personally. I guess it’s because I enjoy photographing weddings as much as I do that time goes by so quickly. We have got some great new products in the pipeline which I’m really excited about.

Looking at the diary for 2009, it’s going to be a busy year. In 2008 we secured more wedding bookings than in any previous year. The great thing from my point of view is the great brides, grooms and their wedding guests  I’ve worked with and whose company I’ve enjoyed.

I constantly aim to take my wedding photography to a different level with each wedding I photograph, always looking for the unusual but above all working to capture the personalities of everyone at the wedding.

Weddings photographed in Cornwall will be featured in future postings so feel free to come back to have a look. If you are planning a wedding please feel free to give me a call or drop me an email to have chat and discuss any ideas you may have about your wedding photography.

Busy Wedding Photographers in Cornwall

August 31, 2008 – 7:34 am

This year is flying by and August has been an extremely busy, successful month. Having covered weddings at venues such as Boscundle Manor, St Austell, Tregenna Castle Hotel, St Ives, St Buryan Church, St Gluvias Curch, Penryn, Lands End Hotel, Porthminster  Hotel, St Ives, St Michael’s Hotel, Falmouth with marquees that have been supplied by Absolute Canvas and Bodmin Marquees –  lots of hours photographing weddings and many hours spent by Leon post processing all of the captured images. We have worked to within our quoted time schedules and in addition we have received orders for our designer wedding albums, so the pressure has most certainly been high but we have delivered.

Thanks to all of our brides and grooms whose weddings we have covered, it has been such a pleasure to work with you all and many many thanks for all the appreciative emails and phone calls – always good to receive feedback.

September is probably going to be even busier than August as there are many couples who have yet to make their selection of photographs for their wedding album page designs – I have a feeling we are going to receive lots of orders which when added to the number of weddings that I shall be photographing – well all I can say is it’s going to be a mega month! Leon and I look forward to it.

New Wedding Venue – Blue Bar Porthtowan

August 20, 2008 – 2:52 pm

It’s always good to hear of venues in Cornwall that have recently got a license to host civil wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships. The Blue Bar at Porthtowan and associated function room The Boardroom under Andrews dirction has done just that. I am delighted to be associated with this venue and look forward to working together in the future.

For those of you that don’t know Porthtowan it’s on the north coast not far from St Agnes, in a valley and has a great beach which is overlooked by the Blue Bar - why not have a look at their website – get married, enjoy some beach wedding photographs and then party! Sound good? I wish Andrew and his team good luck with their entrance into the exciting world of weddings in Cornwall.

Porthminster Hotel Wedding

August 17, 2008 – 9:13 am

wedding-porthminster-beach.jpgWell what a surprise for Jan and Marks wedding yesterday – the sun came out!!!!! I could not believe my eyes, having been woken up at 6am with the sound of really heavy rain.

Anyway, the wedding ceremony took place at the Porthminster hotel, St Ives; I got there at 3pm to do some photography of Jan and her bridesmaids having make-up and hair done then the groom in his suit, prior to the wedding ceremony which was at 4pm. I think that Jan was the most stressed bride I have photographed in a very long time – at least she was when I arrived, but after I started taking photographs, having a chat and a laugh, she started to relax. It’s quite understandable; she simply wanted everything to be perfect.

There were about 80 guests, quite a few children and I am so happy that we managed to get some shots done on Porthminster beach as the Bride, Jan, particularly wanted some beach shots. After going to the beach and a few group photographs there was a buffet, which was excellent, a magician who went around the tables entertaining the guests then after the buffet many of the guests enjoyed the chocolate fountain prior to some fresh air and dancing from about 8pm.

Jan and Mark enjoyed their wedding as did their guests. The staff at the Porthminster hotel were very obliging and relaxed – well done to you all.

Porthminster Hotel Weddings St Ives

August 16, 2008 – 8:25 am

Janice and Mark will be getting married at the Porthminster hotel St Ives in Cornwall today. The rain is pouring down at the moment so I hope that it will brighten up later on as they are getting married at 4pm.

I first met Janice some 8 years ago when I photographed her baby at the age of 4 months. I subsequently did a shoot of Janice some years later after she’d met Mark and then photographed her and Mark’s baby some time ago. Janice rang me last year to book me for her wedding photography; this is real customer loyalty which means so much to me. It’s one thing to do one job for someone but it’s quite another to have the chance to do several for the same person over a number of years.

stives-cornwall.jpgI really hope that the weather improves, as the hotel overlooks Porthminster beach a fabulous location for wedding photography with St Ives making a wonderful backdrop for the photographs. When I met up with Janice and Mark last week after my wedding in Falmouth, they were keen to have some beach photography included in their collection of photographs. The photograph shows Porthminster beach in the foreground with St Ives in the background.

Tregenna Castle St Ives weddings

August 10, 2008 – 11:02 am

Just got back from a meet with Lucy and Ross whose wedding I will be photographing in September. I really felt their excitement about their wedding. We met at Tregenna Castle the sun was shining and Anna of wedding flowers in Cornwall was there as she was bringing in the flowers for the wedding taking place there today – wish I was taking the photographs. When I got back I said to Leon that there was a wedding at Tregenna Castle later today and how I wished I was taking the photographs. I have received many enquiries from couples who will be getting married at Tregenna Castle and bookings are being confirmed so I hope to photograph many weddings there in 2009.

Lucy and Ross’s wedding will be good fun, about 110 guests so plenty of photography opportunities on their wedding day. I will be staying for the wedding reception and will take them down to Porthminster beach and into St Ives between the wedding breakfast and the start of the evening wedding celebrations.

Happy Bride’s Mother

August 9, 2008 – 4:31 pm

This was received from Beth’s mother, Judy. I photographed Beth’s wedding at the end of July at Tregenna, St Ives

Dear Pervaiz,
I meant to write you a proper letter to thank you for being brilliant on the day of Beth’s wedding.    At most weddings that I have ever been to the photographer is not too popular, but you had just the right knack to get people’s attention and we are really looking forward to seeing the photographs from tomorrow.

Comments are always appreciated and it’s good to know my antics are well received.
